Dr David Robertson is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Royal Perth Hospital and a Medical Officer in the Australian Army Reserve.
David began his military career in 2009 as an infantry soldier before undertaking his medical degree at the University of Western Australia. Following graduation, he transferred to the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps and was commissioned as a Medical Officer with the 3rd Health Support Battalion. He continues to serve in the Australian Army Reserve.
David completed his specialist anaesthesia training in Western Australia prior to completing a Trauma Anaesthesia Fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital and an Aeromedical Retrieval Fellowship with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. He then further sub-specialised through a Perioperative Medicine Fellowship at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. His clinical and academic interests include trauma anaesthesia, critical care, aeromedical retrieval and military medicine.
